GOAT MEAT

Although our primary interest is selling goats for
breeding we do from time to time sell goat meat. The
majority of our meat sales are made to ethnic markets
in major urban centers, where the buyer purchases a
live animal from us and then arranges processing with
his local butcher.However,since the majority of buyers
are not prepared to buy a live goat, we can arrange
slaughter at a USDA approved slaughter house,which
enables us to offer hindquarters (7-8lbs) or
forequarters (7-8lbs) or the whole carcass(30-35lbs) E-mail us
for current pricing and delivery times.We also have
our own smoke house at the farm,and can provide smoked
goat to interested buyers.We do not use sodium nitrite
in smoking,but instead use Ascorbic Acid (vitamin C)

Our goats lead a happy but short life, since they are slaughtered at about 4 months of age weighing approximately 60 lbs. They are completely free ranging in our woods from Spring through Fall, and lead as natural a life as Nature intended. Compared to commercially grown chicken/beef/veal/lamb our goats are probably the most humanely raised of all farm animals. They are also one of the healthiest red- meats lowest in calories, fat and saturated fat, but
highest in protein and iron, and since their feed
contains no antibiotics there are no residues in their
meat.
