We are located in Newfane, VT, approximately 2 hours from Boston, and 4 hours from New York. We have committed ourselves to raising top quality Boer goats, percentage animals for meat, and full blood for breeding and show. We have about 100 Breeding Does at any time, and during kidding this goes up to approximately 300 head. All are free ranging on our 250 wooded acres. Our animals regardless of parentage exhibit deeply muscled leg and rump combined with prominent forequarters. These characteristics are framed on a long head and body giving the animal the opportunity to achieve maximum weight and size. Most large scale breeders are located in Texas and the South East, far from the major goat consuming centers in the North East. Capricorn Farms hopes to fill this geographical gap by supplying Boer goats to local breeders and meat markets. After all, it's only logical that supply should come from the area of greatest demand for fresh, delicious goat meat!!
